The AI-based TRAFİDAR system developed by RADAR Technologies Inc. (RADARSAN) is being put into operation.
RADARSAN, a subsidiary of the Turkish Defense Industry Directorate, has implemented its AI-powered physical systems in Northern Cyprus.
The system called "TRAFİDAR", which is used in all 81 provinces of Turkey, is designed to ensure road safety and the public in the TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus).
A total of 150 TRAFİDAR devices, including 130 stationary and 20 mobile devices, have been deployed in 30 new locations.
Serhat Doğan, CEO of RADARSAN, said, "We are launching our Smart Transport project in Northern Cyprus. The overall concept of the project is Smart Transport. However, our main goal is to minimize or almost completely eliminate the number of fatal accidents. Unfortunately, more than 50 people have been killed here every year in recent years. According to statistics from the World Health Organization, the main cause of death among young people aged 15-29 in the world is speeding-related accidents. We plan to prevent this through the systems that will be implemented here. Of course, this is not something that can be achieved solely through systems and technologies. In addition to technology, we will manage this process based on social responsibility, raising awareness, and conducting various studies to make drivers more attentive."
Doğan emphasized that as part of the National Technology Initiative, Turkish systems will also be implemented in the TRNC, stating, "This will significantly contribute to replacing imported systems, eliminating annual costs and licensing fees for systems like the central software we rely on, and most importantly, ensuring the technological independence of Northern Cyprus."
